Getting back into blogging

Everybody does it. They go on a hiatus, and put their blog on hold. I have NO idea what has been stopping me lately, its not like I'm not around the computer for at least an hour a day.

So what do you try to do to get yourself back into blogging on a regular basis?
Set a reminder on your phone? Tried that, I just ignore it.
I haven't really been taking pictures, so I can't really post them like that.
I think I could just write a WHOLE bunch of posts and just time them so they get posted at different times.
Should I start a challenge again? maybe the 365 Photo challenge?

Anyways; here's a life update;

I got a roommate, and Josh moved in as well. Currently for animals we have Three cats; Corona (My roommate's cat), James and Tybalt, and then we have my ferret Rikki, and my Terrarium full of garden snails. Having three cats in the house certainly is different, considering they're all extremely different in personalities.

Corona will have an opinion on everything possible

Corona
Tybalt is the same as always and always getting into tons of trouble he knows he shouldn't be getting into.
Tybalt

And James is our neurotic kitty. He gets upset over EVERYTHING. At least he isn't scared of us anymore. He also hisses at his tail and chases it. It's quite amusing watching him get so angry.

James
I've been working midnights at McDonald's, and I seriously love it. I didn't expect to when I first started, but I think I'll be sticking around there for as long as I can. The pay sucks and so do the hours kind of. I get more training and hours than your average part time employee, because I work the midnights, so it's nice. Buuut I get to see people make themselves look like tools and people stoop to their lowest and try to mooch for anything free they can get.. so it pays off.
As for schooling; I don't know what in the world I want to do. I want to join the military reserves to become a cook. I've really taken an interest in cooking. I just need more training and somebody to teach me. I also need a working oven that can actually bake.

Anyhow, I'm going to go look up different photography challenges and we'll see if by my next post I've figure out what I wanna do on the side to motivate me.

Puppies, Puppies, Puppies.

One of my good friends breeds Papillons, and I don't think I have to say much about how adorable these pups are. The pictures can speak for themselves.

And then There's Kai, the pick of the litter.

This is Kai at about 8-9 weeks old.

 She's quite the quick learner.

This is Mia, My cousin's new Jack Russel pup.

Looking at all these puppies and playing with them makes me kind of want my own. And then I remember the great old dog I rescued and didn't have to potty train or crate train or teach tricks. All I have to do is spend a nice calm night with her and never want another dog ever again.

She was perfect from the moment I got her.

I love my puppy.

Where have I been?

Here. At this laptop.

Why haven't I been blogging?
To be honest; I don't know. Ran out of stuff to blog about.
Well;
I got a job; I do telephone surveys for the Conservatives and when the elections are over and done with I'll be doing agriculture surveys, calling people in Saskatchewan and Alberta. It's a terrible job, but it's above minimum wage and it pays the rent/bills.
Did I mention I work at home?
I turned 19. And every  time I've purchased alcohol so far I have yet to be carded. Frustrating, huh?
Joshua left again. He won't be back till July 9th. he's doing his QL2 course in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I may or may not go visit him there. I have never seen the ocean and it'd be nice to do so. Maybe I'll go in July and come home with him. He also moved into my apartment, and by the 1st my current roommate will be out. (Woo!)
I'm a better cook, I think. Maybe. I'm more adventurous, atleast. I cook meat.
Tybalt is great, he's grown up into a big beautful tom. He sleeps in the blankets with me, usually.

I got a costume. It's my character Finnigan. I wear her about when I feel it's appropriate; mostly Furry Conventions and the occasional outing to get a positive vibe for the fandom, and thats not too often. If you see me out, don't hesitate to ask for a hug!
I've been to two conventions and LOVED both. I don't think I'll be missing any that are close to me ever again. What a great group of people to be around!
Don't know what 'furries' are? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furries will give you an unbiased look.

This takes up most of my time, to be honest.

Next project I'll be tackling will be Satyr costumes for me and Joshua to wear to Renaissance Festivals. Like so:

That's my life in a nut shell so far. I work, I sleep, and I sit on the computer for obscene amounts of hours. The end. I'll post probably after Easter.

No Such Thing as a Free Animal.

Have I ever said "There's no such thing as a free animal" to you guys?
Yeah... This rings true for me. Maybe just cause I'm a tad bit more responsible than those knuckleheads that beg for free animals on Kijiji.ca or Craigslist. Ugh those folks piss me off to no end!

Probably the cheapest part about getting an animal is buying it.

Although I got my dog Valentine for free, I had to immediately take her to the vet and caused a $180 vet bill.Which I happily paid because she was in reaaally rough shape. Me and Syd thought she had Mange or something along the lines of that. I really do mean rough shape. I really should have charged those bastards with animal cruelty but it doesn't matter now. All they would have gotten was a slap on the wrist anyways. Stupid lenient laws.
Val, a few days after we got her. Look at her ears.
She had to wear a jacket because she had no fur on her tummy and back and tail.

She most certainly was worth the money. She's the best dog I'll likely ever own, and I'm very glad I took a huge risk on her. She brightens up my family's day with her quirks. Although she doesn't play, she's a fantastic companion. Great great old dog.
Now look at her beautiful coat.

Now; Here's my new cat story.

Well.. Although I found my cat under a car, meowling and dirty as ever, I didn't have to pay, other than for his supplies. I still have the responsibility of taking him out to the vet. I got the whole package all at once, just to avoid multiple trips and trauma to my feline friend.

I seriously mean the whole package:
Dewormed  - He had tapeworms
Neutered
Defleaed-and-stuff shot - Always good to have, though he didn't have fleas, he could have had other things.
Declawed - I can go buy a new shower curtain, and less random scratches on my arms from playing with him
Shots - All of his vacs. Minus the ones that cats need if they're outdoor too.
Tests - Gotta make sure my cat didn't have Feline AIDS and Leukemia.

Guess how much this vet bill is? Well the neuter was only $100 which is great for our area. But in total, it was $500. I figured I was gonna spend that much anyways on him so I agreed and hopefully I don't have to go back. Technically I saved money by doing all of the procedures at once. Less money for anesthesia and vet hours and certainly less trauma to my Tybalt.

Oh boy he was pissed to be there. I stuffed him in the ferret carrier. He bitched at the vet and the cats at the vet. I lol'd when the vet went to pet him on the head in a "good kitty" manner and he was all "HISSS SNARL HISS"

So, now I'm Tybaltless for two nights. I'm gonna miss that boy.<3 He'll be home Thursday, probably all drugged up.

What Did I get Myself Into?

Well I am keeping this cat. Partially because I realized now why he was abandoned and why it'll be hard to find this cat a home.
Ever seen Simon's Cat?

And probably the funniest one;

I understand his pain...

Meet Tybalt.
Don't let this adorable face fool you

Although he is Photogenic

And has likely the best markings ever.

This cat is a Tyrant.

Prince of cats, PFFFT.

More like Tybalt the Tyrant.
As I am sitting here, he's terrorizing a ball of yarn.
Now, I've had Tybalt for like two weeks. I watched him grow from a grateful hungry cat to tyrannous fiend in a matter of days. There is NO sleeping with this cat in your room. The other day I was napping on the couch and he felt the sudden rather rash urge to run all the way down my body and on my face. And then proceeds to look hurt when I yelled out in surprise and anger for the cat claws that were in my scalp just a moment ago.

Never have I had so many issues with a cat, ever. I love cats, and I love Tybalt, but he's a crazy cat.

He has his very affectionate moments, where all he wants to do is sleep at your feet. Like right now; he's tuckered himself out and curled up at my feet on the rug. He also keeps himself amused when he needs to. He just has a curiosity like nothing else I've seen.

Luckily he hasn't eaten my rats or my lizard, although there have been attempts to, and now my door is closed unless I'm in the room with him. He knows better than to jump on the dresser that holds my edible pets. He met the squirt bottle.
Tybalt doesn't like the squirt bottle. But he still likes to play in my shower after you get out of it. Weird cat likes water.

For his diet I'm trying to feed him on a grain free holistic diet. I also learned about putting water into your cats food to help with their health too. That cats aren't really supposed to drink just from their water dish that they're meant to take in 75% of their water in their food. Makes sense, I mean what bird or mouse is dry like kibble? My rule of thumb for animal food; if it can be bought at a grocery store and is a kibble, it's likely not as healthy as the bag says it is.
I think most people should try to feed their cats a grain free food. If I ate more meat, I'd feed a kibble free diet. But I don't eat meat often. Feeding your cat something with Grain proteins in it would be like feeding a horse a hamburger. It's just not made for their digestive systems.

While grain free and holistic diets are more expensive, you'll have a cat that lives longer and is less likely prone to diseases. Less Really expensive vet bills. Not to mention Tybalt's poop; pretty much ordourless now that he was dewormed and on a grain free diet.
If you're more interested, or need a bit more proof I really suggest looking into it. Click Here and Read up on it!

Tybalt is going in to the vet soon to get neutred and to get his front paws declawed. Although I'm not for declawing a cat, I am renting and I can be evicted if he marks up doorways or doors or the floors. I had a cat live to be 21 without front claws, and she lived outdoors for 16 years.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading and I really hope you look into going grain free for your cats and dogs.

Go check out more Simon's Cat videos! They're great for a giggle or two.

It's an S Kind of Day.

Well. We got some snow!
I woke up much to my delight. I am probably one of the few people that love snow like a little kid.

First off we have a Snowy Sheba Ear

Me and Sydney went out to take pictures in the paddock. And well....
Meet Stormy.
*snort Snort prance prance Snort*
(at which point she greeted us, and was later shoo'd away in fears of her brother tagging along)
Might I note she was still Snorting and huffing up a storm at this point.

She came snorting back a few more times...

How could you not love that Morgan face?
After this, I went for Sushi, I didn't take pictures.
This is prolly the first time I've ever come home with leftovers from sushi. Fantastic!

Hope you had a good day. :)

Stray Magnet

Maybe it's because I can't help myself when it comes to helping an animal in need, but I seem to be a stray magnet. This year year it was my dog Valentine, a Lizard and somebody else's ferret. The other ferret went to another home that knew a lot about ferrets.
There's a kitten in my apartment right now, dirty and slowly gaining weight. I have nicknamed him Tybalt for the time being.

I bought him food, a new litterbox, a collar (cause it was on sale) more litter (It's cage cleaning day anyways), and dewormer.
He's got a case of worms, but not that bad. He peed on an old ugly sweater I wanted to throw out, that was SUPPOSED to be his bed. I put the pee sweater and hte box it was in by the litter box, the sweater on the outer edge of it and filled the box with litter as well. Hopefully he takes the hint when he needs to poop.

Well.. He went poop, In the litter box! :D

Prince Tybalt here is going to get a bath in a bit because of how dirty he is. I just needed to build the trust.

Wish Tybalt luck in finding a permanent home! If anybody is interested give me a ring!

Sunday Stills: Pets

Well, I thought I would so Sunday Stills because it's on one of my favourite topics for photography. I love taking pictures of my animals and other people's animals. If I could; I would upload them all, but that would be a horribly long photoblog. So I decided to keep it really simple.
If you wanna know more about any of these photos; just go ahead and ask away in the comments!
